The Agricultural Research Service provides relevant, quality agricultural research and technology to assist farmers, processors and the general public. Because ARS maintains a core research capability through permanent scientific staff, it is able to maintain a quality research program directed to solving high-priority national problems involving long-term and/or high risk research. This enables us to respond efficiently and effectively to emerging national needs.
